Antonio Ferrara is the Bar Manager of Aman Bar in Venice. He makes us two cocktails, one with Japanse Gin and Golden Leaf and the second with Tequila and Honey.
Antonio introduce yourself
My name is Antonio, I am 39 years old, I was born in a small city near Padova. My experience started in St. Moritz, then I moved to Venice where I meet Giorgio Fadda. Giorgio gave to me all the information for becoming a professional bartender: what means hospitality and how to be a man behind the bar. Thanks to Giorgio I start to participate in a great challenge for the bartender competition. After a few years, I moved to increase my knowledge about business management and finally arrive in Aman Venice in 2014. In Aman, I take the opportunity to build the bar concept and a team. We received the first award in 2019, “The World’s 44 Best Hotel Bar”. Today we focus on mixology, new trends and hospitality, our mindset is “Feel like at home”.

The bar you dream of
I imagine creating a new concept, mixing bar culture and amazing places, like the exclusivity area where most Aman properties are located. Each property with its signature made exclusivity with the ingredients of the area. Always focus on people, creating every time an experience.
What do you do in your time off
I love to spend time with my family and teach my baby the importance of giving a contribution to society. I love to visit new places and combine my love for bartending and city arts. I love staying in a huge place where I can run with my dogs.
The spirit you like the most
My favourite spirit is Gin. I love to taste different brands and balance a cocktail according to the guest’s request. I usually love looking for a small gin producer with something very typical.
What makes a good cocktail
For sure the combination of knowledge, hospitality and smiling. I prefer to focus on the guest experience interaction with a single cocktail. Have a huge view with a lot of details.
What ingredient do you enjoy using in cocktails
It’s not exactly an ingredient, more a technic, but in this period, I love to use fermentation, I think you can arrive to reach a unique taste with it.
